MANDOLIN LESSONS |
There are quite a few styles, from Folk/Irish to
Bluegrass or Italian melodic easy listening style. Depending on which route you want to go down I will create a programme for you starting with basic chord theory moving on to plectrum techniques, tremolo and the whole set up of your instrument. We will have a goal to go for such as “Being able to play chords for a Bluegrass Song and take a solo “ or playing a whole tune along to a backing tape. As with guitar I can give you the very best advice on choosing an instrument suitable for you. The mandolin is like the banjo. On it’s own it really can sound scratchy and thin so all lessons will have guitar accompaniment from myself (as well as my mandolin when teaching) which will make the mandolin sound better and be a great help for your rhythm and timing. I can also supply CDs with backing tracks which are in easy keys and will make you sound really good !! |
