A BAD GUITAR WILL BE , at the least  A BAD START:

If your guitar is badly SET-UP (very very common with some new inexpensive guitars,) then you will definitely need it SET-UP. This means getting the strings close to the fretboard so that the guitar will play in tune and secondly, not be painfully uncomfortable for you. You will hear the out of tuneness and basically not like it and there’s a good chance you may even give up.

I can either do a minor SET-UP myself for £10-£15 (it usually takes me more than an hour to do this job properly if it’s the nut, truss rod  and bridge saddle which it usually is). If it’s a bigger job and  needs a luthier then I can get you a quote as I have two good contacts.

THIS IS VERY  IMPORTANT to your progress on the guitar. I can of course also help you with buying a guitar and am happy to go to a shop with you (at a mutually convenient time)  at no cost to you.  I may have a guitar for sale. Please avoid Ebay £79 Guitars as they are mostly problematic !!.

Speak to me at any time, before or after lessons or even if you just want some advice and not having lessons.
